PHYSICAL OCEANOGRAPHY AND COASTAL PROCESSES
  • Environmental measurements of physical parameters
  • Directional wave, current, wind, water temperature, and tidal studies
  • Tidal and storm surge flooding analyses
  • Shoreline changes description and analysis
  • Beach profile surveys and analyses
  • Sediment transport computations
  • Outfall plume investigations

  • Configuration of data acquistion systems

Coastal Environments has extensive experience in oceanographic environmental studies. Our approach is to arrive at practical solutions, based on a comprehensive knowledge of physical processes. This requires an understanding of the forcing functions (i.e., waves, coastal currents, and tides) and site-specific parameters (i.e., marine geology, beach and shoreline factors, and longshore and cross-shore sediment transport). CE has successfully applied these techniques to thermal and sewage discharges, site selection of harbors, and shoreline modeling.
